I was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) when I was 7 years old. Since then, CF has been a constant part of my life. CF is a genetic disorder that mainly affects the lungs and digestive system. It isn't contagious, so you can’t catch it from someone who has it. This condition causes the body to produce thick mucus, which can lead to breathing problems.Living with CF comes with challenges that many people may not think about. One of the most noticeable symptoms is frequent coughing as the body tries to clear mucus from the lungs. This can sometimes be misunderstood by others, but it’s a normal part of life for those with CF.Managing CF means sticking to regular treatments, like chest physiotherapy and medications, to help control symptoms and avoid complications. Simple everyday tasks can feel harder because of tiredness, shortness of breath, or digestive issues.Advances in treatment have brought hope and greatly improved the lives of many people with this condition. I’m sharing this to help others understand CF better and to break any misconceptions. Thank you for taking the time to learn about CF and for supporting the CF community.
